The Roni Ben-Hur Trio set time: 19:30
Duo Schlesinger Lackerschmid set time: 21:30
Wolfgang Lackerschmid, whose vibraphone playing is equally fascinating in its highly emotional and technically adept way, has found an ideal duo partner in the singer Stefanie Schlesinger (“pleasantly timbred voice”, “expressive jazz feeling”).The repertoire of the two has constantly developed over the many years of their concerts through common preferences and projects, so that not only the selection of the music, but also the stories behind it make their duo concerts something very special. Own compositions, songs from the “American Songbook”, film songs or jazzy interpretations of classical arias are on the program.

The Roni Ben-Hur Trio showcases jazz and Brazilian tunes in an intimate, elegant, and sizzling manner. They have performed on five continents to enthusiastic crowds and have captured the imagination of critics and audiences around the world.
Jazz guitarist Roni Ben-Hur has earned a sterling reputation as a musician and educator, renowned for his golden tone, improvisational brilliance, compositional lyricism and ability to charm peers, students and listeners alike. Eminent jazz critic Gary Giddins wrote in the Village Voice: “A limber and inventive guitarist, Ben-Hur keeps the flame alive and pure, burning in every note… He’s a guitarist who knows the changes and his own mind.” Roni – born in Israel in 1962 but a longtime American citizen, based in the New York City area – has recorded a dozen-plus albums as leader or co-leader, with The New York Times praising his “crisp, fluid style” and Time Out New York calling him “a formidable and consummately lyrical guitarist.” He has developed a rare facility in both straight-ahead jazz and samba/bossa-nova styles, underscored by his work with masters in each field, from bebop piano sage Barry Harris to beloved Brazilian vocalist Leny Andrade.
Award winning bassist extraordinaire, educator, composer, arranger, and producer, Harvie S is continually challenging himself and his peers, expanding the borders of musical direction. He has performed and recorded with such jazz luminaries as Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Dexter Gordon, Tony Bennett, Michael Brecker, Art Farmer, Pat Metheny, Toots Thielemans, Kenny Barron, Chick Corea, Tom Harrell, Sheila Jordan, and many others, and can be heard on hundreds of albums. He is a Professor of Jazz Bass and Jazz Ensemble at Manhattan School of Music.
Vladimir Kostadinovic, an award winning drummer bandleader, composer & arranger is one of the most sought after drummers in the European jazz scenes. His recordings received rave reviews around the globe, and his performance career led him to sharing the stage with the like of Benny Golson, George Garzone, Seamus Blake, Melisa Aldana and Gregory Porter amongst many others.
