Dot Time Records Celebrates 5th Anniversary at jazzahead!

April 2017 marks our 5th anniversary and what better way to mark this milestone than a huge party.

As part of jazzahead! 2017 we will once again host a Clubnight event at Bremen’s Swissotel, however this year it will be bigger than ever. To mark our 5th anniversary, we will present a program featuring an international line-up of Dot Time recording artists from around the globe.

Michela Lombardi & the Riccardo Fassi Trio – 9:15
michelalombardi_bg_12To kick off our celebration, Italian vocalist Michela Lombardi together with the Riccardo Fassi Trio, will present music from her new Album “Live To Tell”. The new album features a full set of re-imagined music first recorded by pop icon Madonna. The album also features special guests Steven Bernstein (trumpet) and Don Byron (clarinet). This album, firmly rooted in the jazz idiom, brings a new and unique vision to this repertoire that is rarely heard in an acoustic setting.

David Pastor & Nu-Roots – 22:15
ib_0jkwkSpanish trumpet master, David Pastor and his band Nu-Roots have just released their latest album titled “Motion”. David Pastor, together with José Luis Guart on the electric piano, organ and keyboards and Pere Foved on Drums, will perform music from the album during their Bremen performance. With Nu-Roots, Pastor has created a fusion of jazz and the most electric of styles of music creating a new sound and rhythmic nuances that put this trio on the cutting edge of contemporary jazz music.

Robert Hurst. – 23:15
98a87851d1bb209d42c77c46adfc8Seven Time Grammy Award winning Bassist Robert Hurst will present music from his soon to be new released album ‘Bob’s Black Current Jam’. Robert has enjoyed a stellar career spanning 30 years, and is a highly respected, well recognized and critically acclaimed, composer, electric and acoustic bassist, educator and recording artist, evolving into one of the most in-demand and Top Ten polls ranked bassist of this century.

Brazilian Jam Session – 12:30
martie-maeClosing the evening, we will open the stage to all with a Brazilian Jam Session led by Claudio Dauelsberg and Martie, direct from Rio de Janeiro. The session is open to all musicians with a love of Brazilian music.

Earlier in the evening Martie and Claudio will perform music from her latest album “Quem te Viu’ at the übersee museum (Bahnhofsplatz 13, Bremen).
