Dot Time Records expands into Brazilian market.

Dot Time Records has seen steady growth over the last 12 months and we are now in a position to announce a new distribution and production agreement that will see the label move into the Brazilian market. To facilitate our entry into this market we have partnered with Brazilian music distribution company “Tratore distribuição” and the CD production house “Pronto4 Digital”.

Tratore distribuição is the largest distributor of independent music in Brazil. Established in 2002, Tratore distributes over 3,000 titles and services all major Brazilian “brick and moter” retailers including FNAC, Culture, Submarine, Tray, harlequin, Discoplay-BH and Ná Figueredo (Belem) as well as having a strong presence in the Brazilian digital market.

As part of this new agreement selected Dot Time releases will be manufactured locally specifically for the Brazilian market. In addition in the years to come we intend to welcome a number of Brazilian artists to the Dot Time Records family providing them with the opportunity to widen their reach outside of Brazil.

Martie-Quem-Te-Viu-Cover-1500x1500-72dpiThe first release under this new agreement is the Debut album “Quem Te Viu” from the Brazilian based vocalist “Martie”. Originally from the Netherlands, Martie relocated to Brazil to further persue her love of the Brazilian MPB (Música popular brasileira), a style made famous by the likes of João Gilberto and Tom Jobim. Once in Brazil Martie teamed up with Brazilian pianist and producer Claudio Dauelsberg resulting in the production of this album.

Quem te Viu features the creme de la creme of the Brazilian music scene and presents a set of MPB classics along with a reinterpretation of the Lennon and McCartney classic “Black Bird”. This Album is contemporary Brazilian music at it’s best.
Martie’s album will be officially launched in Rio de Janeiro on June 15 at the Theater Solar Botafogo. The concert will also include a guest performance by legendary Bossa Nova guitarist/composer Roberto Menescal.
